February 16th, 2018

I have been settling into a home routine the past couple days and I think we are getting it figured out.  Meals are getting a little easier.  There are more foods now that are starting to taste normal again, although it still seems random.  I love my shower here much more than the one at the hospital.  I could never get warm enough in the hospital shower, not enough volume.  Got plenty of volume here.

I went to the hospital yesterday to have a blood draw so they can monitor me.  I will be doing this twice a week for the foreseeable future.  The results came back good, but not great.  All the numbers keep going up as they as supposed to, just not as fast as I think they should be going up.  The nurses are not concerned and say this is normal, and I am sure it is.  I want my white blood cell count to make it over 1000 so I can start eating some of the foods I crave.  Once it goes over 1000 I can have fresh fruits and vegetables.  I really want avocado, tomato and apples.

I hope all of you are doing well.

Kevin, I am praying big time that your white blood cell count goes over a 1000 so you can eat all the fresh fruit you want. Frank and I were house boating with the kids and when you get way out on Lake Shuswap you really miss fruit because there are no grocery stores close!!! 🍐🍎 Kit K.

Kevin great news. If you want me to bring over anything let me know. I could stand outside and throw you food from a distance!

Keep after your sleep and food intake. It must feel great to be back in the comfort of your home at the very least. I’m feeling positive about your progress and can’t wait to bring you avocados, apples and tomatoes!
