February 20th, 2018

I did a blood draw yesterday morning and got the results back in the afternoon.  The numbers continue to go up and look good.  My platelets are back to normal, so if I cut myself I don't have to worry about bleeding out anymore.

I was supposed to get a bone morrow sample taken this morning at 9am, but the person doing the procedure called in sick.  It is rescheduled for this Thursday now. This sample is going to be used to determine my upcoming treatment.  This is the first bone marrow sample taken since my stem cells fired back up, time to see how they look.

Yesterday was the first day where I was just hungry all day.  Seemed like all I did was forage for food.  Karen was delighted to see me eating so much, she is trying very hard to fatten me up.  We want me to put back some of the weight I lost before the next round of chemo starts.  I have to assume the next round of chemo will kill my eating again.

I forgot to mention above that my numbers are high enough that I can have avocados, tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables.  This is great news because I can have some of the food I am craving!  My mother in law makes her own raspberry jam each year.  I opened up a jar of this yesterday and it is like "crack" on toast.  I look forward to eating well this week.

It is good to hear from you and to get the updates. Sounds like you are on the mend and your humor has turned silly again. All good signs and encouraging to know. It's a trip. Listen to mission control and tweak course as needed. Frank

Bring on the food! Let me know if you need an eating partner - I'm volunteering Tom (to cook and to eat with you). Praying for more positive results to come from Thursday.

I agree with your assessment of any Klien family jam - I'm hording the one jar of strawberry I have left from last season. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
