March 11th, 2018

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post,  I thought it was a couple days ago.  Today is considered day 11 of my 21 day chemo cycle. Day 1 was the first when they hung the first bag and day 21 is approx when I go back to start the next round.  Doctors told me days 7 to 10 would be when I will be at my lowest blood counts and most run down physically.  I would have to agree that days 9 & 10 I did not feel like playing tennis, sitting around watching Netflix was more my speed setting.  I would also have to say that day 11 has not been much different than 10.

I did a blood test this morning and they were correct, the numbers were low.  My immune system is low again so I will refrain from the dance clubs for now.  The up side is that the doctors also said people generally recover more quickly with these rounds of chemo so in theory I should start coming back up now.

Ant update:  Thank you everyone for your ideas about dealing with the ants.  Glad to know I am not alone in this fight.  I have had no ants for the past week and thought I had won.......until this morning.  I went to get some trail mix (that we bought yesterday) and found the invasion continues.  I realize that I can continue to win battles, but will probably never win the sugar ant war.  I am out numbered.

It is awesome to see the sun come out, makes it easy to go outside.  I had to do something today I have never done before......sunscreen my bald head!  Hope everyone is doing well.

Great to see you are doing well Kevin. I chuckled as I read that last couple of posts. Enjoy the warm weather today and keep up the fight against cancer and the ants. You will win both battles with your persistence.

Hey Kevin - You've got the George Cloony look going on, I think it works well for you. Glad to hear your doing well, knowing you I didn't expect anything different. PS - on the "Ant War" watch a show called 72 on netflix... it's about the 72 most deadly animals in the world. Apparently the total weight of humanity weighs the same as all of the ants in the world. Fun fact. Best wishes! Chet

You're working it Kevin -- got your eyes on the prize. So glad for the sunshine, too -- makes a difference for all of us, including the sugar ants ;-)
