About Kristine!!

Certified Life Coach, Certified NYS Addiction Recovery Coach, Certified Holistic Cancer Coach, HeartMath Certified Trainer, Owner of Next Steps Within

Kristine possesses an inner fire that is not easily extinguished. When a Hodgkins disease diagnosis threatened her RIT ice hockey career at the start of her sophomore season, she underwent six months of treatment and beat it!  She returned to the ice with more appreciation and passion for not just the game, but for life -- immersing herself in hockey, education, and helping others in her community. During and after her illness, she volunteered for more than 23 different causes and organized community service projects for her teammates.  In 1999, she became the first woman to win the National Humanitarian Award, symbolic of college hockey’s finest citizen.  That same year, she became the first athlete in the history of RIT athletics to have her jersey retired.  #12 is framed and currently hangs in the Gene Polisseni Center at RIT.

Upon graduating from RIT, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Management, Kristine joined the coaching ranks as Mercyhurst College’s Women’s Ice Hockey Assistant Coach (1999-2001), and later served in marketing roles for ESL Sports Centre (2001-2003) and Rochester Americans and Rochester Knighthawks (2001-2002).

Experience

An over-comer in the truest sense, Kristine has a gratitude for the life she has been given and strives to live it with power, purpose and joy.  Now a certified life coach, recovery coach and holistic cancer coach, in 2017 she founded Next Steps Within, with the goal of helping others choose to live life to the fullest: “So many people need to hear encouraging words and sense positive energy.  I want my clients to know I believe in them, maybe even more than they believe in themselves, and help them focus on what is possible, rather than on what is impossible – whether it be spiritually, physically or mentally.” She is currently enrolled in the Coaching School of Functional Medicine which will further guide her in empowering her clients towards optimal wellness.

A lifelong resident of Mendon, NY, Kristine considers her biggest accomplishment to be her family: her husband David and their four active children -- three sons and a daughter. She is involved in many volunteer roles throughout her community, including serving on numerous committees for Honeoye Falls-Lima School District, and spearheading a Mark Gungor seminar for over 500 couples at the Crosswinds Wesleyan Church in Canandaigua, her family’s home church.  She also volunteers at Benincasa Hospice Care, is the local chapter leader for Healing Strong Organization, and Co-Leader of the local Weston A. Price Foundation.

What a positively strong, well rounded, encouraging woman with so very much to offer others on their lifes journey. So much written that I hadn't known. With the faith and the power of spiritual healing may she overcome this hand that's been dealt. God bless!
