Whipple + 1
After reading about this horrendous surgical procedure, I expected to be pretty much out of it for a couple of days, Not so!
I watched the third Warrior victory last night in my hospital room 8 hours after surgery completion, got about 5 hours of good sleep, and am somewhat up and about this morning, sitting up in a chair for several hours.
This unexpectedly comfortable recovery is largely due to an epidural pump that delivers pain medicine whenever I push the green button. The most uncomfortable part has been the NG (nasogastric) tube that drains gastric juices from my stomach. Felt like a very sore throat whenever I swallowed, but it was removed a couple of hours ago!
Looks like this is going to be a very boring recovery, so we won't post again unless something interesting happens or we learn more about my pancreatic condition.

Great to hear Marian. Positive vibes flowing your way
Fantastic news, thanks for sharing! This is one case where "boring" sounds like just the ticket. ;-) We'll keep the good energy headed your way.
Thank you for your updates...sounds like you are doing well- hope this continues and you can go home soon..hugs
This is such good news. Going home will be the best medical care of all, I suspect. I hope it's very soon. So happy for you!
And, the Warriors won game 3.
Dear Marian, I've had an unexpected house guest for the past 2 weeks so that's why you haven't heard from me, I apologize. Your journey is quite familiar to me but your outcome is going to be vastly different, we need you yelling in the stands as well as maintaining the website!!! Are you able to have visitors? I want to come and see you asap. Nancy
Yay Marian! Get and stay well!
It is great to hear that things are going well, Marian. I certainly hope you continue to recover quickly!
