Not so boring, unfortunately
Things went along OK for the first couple of days, but then I noticed some weakness and palsy in my right hand. At first the doctors thought it might be swelling from the IVs on the nerve, but after a Neuro exam and an MRI last night we found I'd had a small stroke. This was a known risk, because I had to stop the blood thinners I normally take so the operation wounds could clot. Apparently there was a rogue clot also.
Anyway, the effects are relatively small and should ease with time. The rest of the recovery is moving a bit slower than hoped. I'll spare you the icky details of getting a digestive tract restarted after remodeling. Just say that all inputs and outputs are tracked with great attention.
It looks as if they may send me home tomorrow, or possibly Friday.

That sounds like no fun at all! I'm sorry the recovering is feeling slow right now. We'll continue sending lots of love and good, healing vibes to you and your digestive tract. Here's hoping you're both healthy and comfortable again soon! Meanwhile, best wishes for settling back in at home. <3
Bummer to have this bump in the road. But at least it wasn't something from far out in left field. I'm pulling for you to get past this blip and get home into comfortable and familiar surrounds as soon as possible.
