R2 D2

Round 2 has been pretty similar to the first round so far. Other than Mike having less hair, and we are a lot closer to home!

We got checked in yesterday without a hitch. It always takes so long to get settled into a hospital room. Paperwork-ACK!

The Rituxan got started around 1:45, and took about 5 hours to run. When that was finished they started the 3 drug chemo bag at 7:45.  It runs for 96 hours (4 days). We aren't sure if he'll get discharged late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Hoping for Saturday night!

Our nurse was here yesterday and today so she got a good dose of Mike! She peeked her head in once today just to "See if he's alive." I'd say she has adapted to Mike's humor pretty quickly! She was actually whining that he's too easy of a patient.

Both days have been pretty uneventful. Of course, that's a good thing! Mike walked laps around this floor for 35 minutes today! He has been feeling good! We've watched too much tv, and seen everything that there is for sale on Craigslist.

A friend stopped in for a visit today and that was so nice. It was great to see a familiar face, and Mike loves when people can tell a good story that makes him laugh. Kellee, you delivered. Good job! :)

I'm heading home to have dinner at home and love on the kiddos. I know it's hard for Mike to have to stay here while I go home. He said it's almost harder knowing that home is just an hour away. I told him it's ok because that just means he'll get to see them sooner when he gets discharged. Yay, for not having a 6 hour drive home!

Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers! Love you guys!

xoxo

Robin

Happy for these "uneventful" days and too much TV together. So I went to Mass with the grade schoolers today and then swung over to the Preschool room to pick up kiddos. I had a baby with me that I'm babysitting and he really needed his diaper changed. Well, I just naturally plopped him down on the circle carpet to change him. I should have expected the swarm of little people to follow and watch! Poor teachers, they were trying their best to get their coats on and in line for pick-up! Oops...distraction:) A cute one though:)

I look forward to your updates, you are gifted in many ways , l'm sure, but one is your writing and sharing your personnel thoughts that are put in such a nice way. I was so very happy that your time in the hospital has been uneventful so far . I admire both Mike and your courage in trying to keep positive attitudes and facing this head on . I can only imagine what you face daily , since you get up with it and it is the last thing on your minds before your heads hit the pillow . Continue to stay strong and know that your " Prayer Warriors " remember you both several times a day.

Hopefully you are getting some good deals on Craigslist. Now for your joke of the day (2 for today/yesterday): 1. Why does a chicken coop only have 2 doors? Because if it had 4, it would be a chicken sedan. 2. A pirate walks into a bar with a ship's steering wheel stuck to the front of his pants. The bartender asks, "Hey, doesn't that hurt?" The pirate growls, "Aye, it's driving me nuts."
