Waiting Is Hard |4-29-16|
The biopsy went well on Tuesday. Mike was a little surprised and nervous when he found out that he wouldn't be completely sedated for the procedure, but he handled it well.
They suggested we stay in town that night to make sure he didn't have any complications, so we did. It sounded like there were going to be bad storms at home that night, so we didn't really want to drive into that, anyways. On Wednesday morning, we got up early and headed home. We drove through rain for about 3 hours, then had to go through a detour off the interstate, so that turned out 5.5 to 6 hour trip into a 6.5 hour trip. I was a little tired Wednesday night!
By Thursday, Mike wasn't in any pain from the biopsy, but he was pretty tired. He never got around to doing too much. Today, even, he is enjoying time on the couch. He isn't feeling sick though, so he's glad about that. He just doesn't have any energy.
We've been hoping that we might get some results today, but I'm thinking it will be next week. It was difficult for them to diagnose him originally, so I'm thinking, it might be the same deal this time. They took several samples to biopsy, and some of them were of pretty necrotic tissue. This was what we were running into with previous biopsies, too. For whatever reason, a lot of this disease is making his lymph nodes "rotten". I hope they got some good samples, too though!
Now we are waiting. It's not my favorite game to play, but I do feel like I'm getting pretty good at it. At least we're at home. Silver Lining.
XOXO
Robin

Robin, you don't know me, but your mother-in-law is my father's sister. My dad is John Myers. So, that makes me Mike's first cousin. 😊. I just wanted to let you know all of us here in Minnesota are praying every day for all of you. And thank you so much for the updates, it is good to hear about Mike's progress. Hope to meet you someday soon. Love to all..... Alison Myers.
You crossed my mind this morning, Robin. I can't explain it really. We only spoke a couple of times via IG. I had to find a photo of mine way back in my feed that I remembered you commenting so sweetly on bc I couldn't remember your name or IG handle. I believe God put you on on my heart this morning; it's the only explanation. :) Please know that I'm praying for you and your family. Selena Campbell Middle Sister Design (IG)
