Half of my Second Opinion

So we made it in and out of New York without a hitch. First small victory!! Long day starting at 5:00am and ending around 11:30pm, but so worth the piece of mind. A special shout out and huge thank you to Susan for trekking it out to our home out in the burbs and spending the day with our angels. They love Miss Susan.

So let's get to the simple stuff . . . the current chemo treatment. Dr. Amir gets an A+. The oncologist would have put me on the exact same treatment with the exact same schedule based on my diagnosis. That's such great news because I really like Dr. Amir.

Okay as in the words of my children, that was easy peasy lemon squeezey. Now on to the surgical oncologist. First hurdle - we did not have all the pathology reports and addendums, and most importantly the one that notes the second lump that's malignant per my new surgeon at PMH. However, I did get my MRI results!  The lump at 7oclock is not showing up, which means the chemo is working. Ther MRI also showed two small potential areas of concern, so they did a sonogram of those two areas. I should get the results from the Cornell folks any day.

I'm the meantime, I have an appointment with my surgeon on Friday to confirm there is/was a malignant lump at 7oclock and to discuss the MRI results with him. Until then we are on a holding pattern. Will keep you posted.

Gotta run almost at PMH to meet with Dr. Amir and do my blood work. I am such a big girl. Took the Go Train all my myself!!  Woot woot!

The weapons they are giving you are working so let your Chemo Soldiers and Plasma Destroyers get to work- Kill it Ripley ... no prisoners, no mercy, all Alien Intruders die.... period! Kill it Ripley, that's what you do.

Every triumph is a win Bobbie. Really good feeling to have your oncologist's treatment endorsed. Good luck with surgical consult. xoxo
