Sunday Evening 7/2/17

Hey all!

The last few days have been pretty full for me, so that's less updates for you. Overall, Peter is doing well. Today was day two of chemo, and it's starting to affect him more. We are still admitted to Bronson.  The feeling of nausea and some loss of appetite is setting in, so we can pray against that. For the most part yesterday and today the pain stayed under control, which was so good! Thankfully, medicines are helping with some of the symptoms of chemo. Today he said just felt ill, but was glad he wasn't in as much pain.

One cool moment: one of our nurses shared with us that thinks this may be the first time she's had a cancer patient who signed paperwork that said something along the lines of "treatment to attempt cure" instead of "treatment for symptoms." Somebody praise the Lord!!!

The doctors shared with us today that it looks like his enlarged lymph nodes were causing internal compression, and they think that was the cause of a lot of the pain. Judging by today's changes in pain levels, it seems even possible they could have begun shrinking already! We have no way of knowing that for sure, but I'm hoping and believing it's true.

Please pray that he doesn't have any complications, like pneumonia, infection, dehydration (that would be a concern once we get home), or increases in pain, nausea or other chemo or medicine symptoms. Also no more hiccups. Those were super weird and different than normal ones today!

Pray for me and Tami and we are primarily spending our time caring for Peter. Pray for Esther to be fully healthy--she's got a little diaper rash that's been rough on her. Pray for us to be able to adjust to these changes at home and be able to have Peter, Esther and I all in the same house again overnight soon. It's been a long time since that's happened. Pray for the amazing people, especially the Cyr's, who have been watching Esther so I can focus on Peter and taking care of myself. Pray for the doctors to have wisdom, for Peter's pain to go down more each day, for a return of appetite, and for him to be fully cured!!

Love to you guys 😍 I really believe God is covering little Esther and giving her a supernatural grace to be carried through this season just as he is for both of you. Praying!

I continue to pray for all of you. My thoughts are with you often. Maybe try gingerbread cookies for the nausea and mints for a dry mouth.
