Update November 14

Most of you are in the Facebook prayer group (if you're not and you would like to be, send me a note) and are already up to date on the latest happenings. But some of you (wise people!) are NOT on Facebook, and so this is for you. :)

In mid-October leukemia again showed itself in Laura's blood. Laura has been in the hospital now for nearly a month undergoing chemo and then recovery. The chemo went well, but during recovery Laura developed an infection that eventually turned into (or showed itself to be) a fungal pneumonia.

The goal of the chemo was to enforce a temporary remission in preparation for a stem cell transplant, scheduled for mid-December and for which two donors have been matched. Remission was, gratefully, attained. (Thank you, Lord!)

However, fungal pneumonia has set the transplant on hold, and has now become the focal point of prayer and medical effort. 

Laura is hospitalized at OHSU, in good spirits. The Presence of the Lord is palpable in her room and in her demeanor. God is very near, and so, so good.

Will you pray with us? Pray to our powerful, merciful, Father-Son-Spirit, this Jesus who makes and holds and restores life? We are asking for an end to the pneumonia, complete healing. We are asking for complete restoration, and end to the leukemia, a successful transplant, and long life.

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20, 21)
