Still No Word
We did not hear anything today from MDA about starting treatment. To clarify, the person who called Jason on Tuesday did not say that insurance has refused to pay, only that the insurance company is asking for additional information and perhaps a consult with the doctor himself. If we don't hear anything by the end of tomorrow, I'm sure we will start to get a little anxious. However, we do have an appointment scheduled with oncology on Monday so we will have an opportunity to investigate if we've still not heard anything then.
Claudia (from Rawls) and Wendy (U. Memphis) and I have been doing a little shopping. They thought I should purchase a gift for myself to mark this significant life event. We thought a Tiffany diamond necklace fit the occasion (LOVE IT but Jason was less impressed)! BTW, if you click the photos above you can see the necklace. Today we hit the outlets and I was able to find some great deals on dresses, shorts, and tops. Houston is so hot and I probably needed summer clothes anyway so it was nice just to get some new things. Plus Claudia brought us a suitcase with clothes, shoes, the Xbox for the kids, and a few things for Ashley. Now that I have shoes, clothes, and my jewelry (thanks Robert), I'm a whole woman!
Tomorrow we are hitting the spa (OMG I need a facial so badly) followed by some meal planning and dinner reservations tomorrow night. It's been a great week regardless of the temporary treatment setback.
