Happy Hump Day!
Good morning! Yesterday afternoon we visited with friends from Kentucky and had a great time at the Johnson Space Center. We tried to go to the zoo but it was so busy we couldn't even find parking. Plan B worked just as well. Today I have a special treat planned. No one but Jason and I know where we are going so I will tell you more about that tomorrow. In the meantime, here is a quick update on treatment, etc.
This week I've been going in for proton therapy early in the morning, around 6:30 AM. I am really enjoying these early morning sessions because 1) there are few people there, which means no waiting, which means I'm in and out faster 2) I get it done early and I have the rest of the day to do things. I said this to Jason yesterday and he just said, "Who the hell are you?!" As many of you know, I've NEVER been a morning person and I historically detest mornings. I guess I'm a new woman now. I hope it continues when I go back to work because I will be able to get a lot more research done early in the day!
Also, chemo has continued to go well. We have only 4 more weeks of proton, then follow up appointments, and then home for a while. The radiologist did say that if I lose my hair it should start around now. I've seen no evidence of this so far and they did say not everyone loses hair, and should only occur in the areas where the proton beam hits my scalp. This would be on the right said and the top of the head. I'm thinking I will start training my hair so that I can have a Donald Trump comb-over. He's such a trendsetter, that guy!

"Donald Trump comb-over" hahaha .... You'll look great in it. Thank you for all the updates ! Love you !
Robert's biggest fear has been that you would become a Trunp supporter if the surgeon removed too much brain.
Sounds like a great day, Shannon! Happy for you. Too about the zoo, but that means there's more fun to be had in the days ahead. "Trump hair" will be that guy's greatest legacy. Yesterday, as I watched the Wisconsin returns and noticed kids wearing cheese-heads, I thought that Trump didn't need one of those plastic yellow-orange toppers, because his hair sufficed.
I love your continued sense of humor my friend!
That Trump comment is amusing -- tying to picture it!! HeeHee! Early morning is great too as errands are done quickly due to no parking problems!! More time to treat yourself later in the day! Enjoy!!! Too bad the kids can't learn to copy your productive routine!!
👍
No, my friend...YOU are the trendsetter...you, bad ass, you!!!!!!!!!!!! Tee Hee! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
