6/12/16. FAITH

"Faith isn't a feeling. It's a choice to trust God even when the road ahead seems uncertain."

Today was a very good day all things considered. Day 2 of steroids, anti-inflammatories, and nutrition via PICC line. We have gone over 48 hours without a fever! Yahoo!  It's been weeks since we've gone without a fever.

No new information on test results, etc. and nothing has changed on the inside, but on the outside Cole did much better today. He's still pale and small, but having some moments of better spirits was fantastic (I say "some" because steroids make you grumpier than normal so that's fun and all). :-)

Since we've been fever free for at least 24 hours we were able to leave the room! Fortunately, Cole was up for that idea!  We went outside for a walk, IV pole and all, and while it was humid and hot we still got some fresh air which was great. He was tired but it was huge that he felt good enough to go, especially outside..it was so wonderful to our hearts to see. :-).   We are shooting for 3 "up and arounds" per day so for the last two we just walked laps on this floor.  Being out of his bed, sitting in chairs, walking, etc. has really helped him work on muscles and lungs which is great, but he's tired. He's done activity books, iPad games, and watched Sports Center, so at this point he is bored and "has nothing to do."  That's the Cole we know because he would usually be moving around the house playing sports inside and such.  We absolutely cannot wait to have that Cole back!

It was a busy weekend of visitors and we've felt so blessed and loved with the outpoor of support we've received during this time.  We continue to feel the amazing support all around us via hospital visits, texts, emails, calls, meals, gifts, thoughts, well-wishes, PRAYERS, etc.

We are grateful and blessed for every single one of you. We pull strength from our friends and family, from this amazing little boy, and the greatest of all, we pull strength from our trust and faith in God.

We choose faith.

Knowing Cole has been fighting fevers daily, it is good to hear he has gone over 48 hours without a fever. Glad to hear Cole was able to go outside and move around. Movement is good! Praying the fevers stay away.
