Another day with no fever!! Today was kind of a grumpy day for us, but we did get some good info. Steroids are doing their part as our inflammatory markers were down 50% which is great. Some other numbers still high and inflammation still high, but we're making some progress on that front. Of course not where we need to be yet to allow for diagnoses, but hey, we'll take baby steps. Also some slight improvement on the lung..still has fluid but it's appearing to also start to look a tad better in some areas. Still a long way to go on all fronts, but we'll take any progress in any area we can get.
Also got to remove our fluid and nutrition IV's this evening so we HAVE to increase eating and drinking which is a challenge right now. Nutrition HAS to go up on all accounts to help other things progress along as well. IF, and it's a big IF, we can get nutrition up along with keeping some things stable and/or better, we MAY have a change for a mid-week assessment to see IF we MIGHT be able to go home for treatment while we wait for the numerous test results still pending. "So you're saying there's a chance??" Yo know you're hearing that movie quote in your mind... :-)
We need increased eating and drinking to even be considered to go home for the time being. Need to keep our immune system as protected as we can while on these steroids and other meds. We need to pray for increased eating/drinking, decreased pain so we can decrease pain meds, and for inflammation to continue going down. We just still have SO MANY things to pray for, but having some specific items right now helps get us there.
Again, still waiting for the Harvard assessment and other tests to come back...but if he is safe enough to continue this beginning step of treatment at home... WE WILL TAKE IT!!
As always, thank you everyone for the AMAZING support you have provided us. So blessed..
