Just a brief update today :-)

Last week was definitely a tough week all around. I'll spare all the details, but we pushed through and are all staying strong.

After 5 days of chemo last week this will be our "off" week and we'll start again next week. Hopefully we'll be able to find some relief from the nausea & vomiting this week as the nausea is pretty much nonstop with just vomiting sometimes. Additionally, we had to turn off our feeds to help the vomiting so now we're gradually adding that back in and he'll hopefully be back up to full feeds this week. Gotta get that nutrition!

Today, so far, is day 3 OFF oxygen!!  This is HUGE for us! The doctor was very excited to see him off oxygen and this is a great step for us!  We are also having fewer fevers! (I almost don't want to say it so we don't jinx it!). We went to fewer spikes per day to longer time in between and so far we haven't had an official "spike" since yesterday. We haven't gone without fevers in months so this is great progress!

We want to believe that this is all due to the chemo doing its job, but we won't know for sure until he gets his scans which will be in a few weeks.

So now we are just maintaining our course with the chemo plan, combatting the nausea/vomiting, and praying we hold strong with fewer to no fevers, and staying off oxygen.

Continued thoughts and prayers much appreciated!

No oxygen and less fevers, this is great. I have to believe Cole is getting God's chemo. I pray the next round will give less discomfort & effects for our soldier Cole. Again Cole and your family are constantly on my mind, in my heart, and always in my prayers. What a brave family you are. I know that being brave and having strength sometimes feel like you are just going through the motions, that it feels like you are numb sometimes. I believe that numbness is God's way of giving us strength when we feel exhausted. I know you will stay strong and focused. You are in the hands of our blessed Lord. In Constant Prayers, Gloria
