4-14-19 Palm Sunday

Walker got to test out his new bed today that stands you up automatically so your on your feet. Works great and will make it much easier to get him up repeatedly so he can get moving. Moving now is very key to his recovery. All his vitals are good, he is pretty well off almost all major meds, and he is alert and aware.

I can tell he is feeling better because he has been telling me No quite often today. Walker they are going to take you outside for some sunshine, No. No, don’t move my legs, No, don’t touch me. Of course, it with a head nod but they are outfitting his trach with a special valve that will allow him to start talking. I asked if they could hold off on that :-).

And they have determined it was the “I don’t know” virus that is the main culprit for his drama. Or some call it the Adenovirus. But say Adeno three times fast and what does it sound like? I don’t know virus with a southern twist. There are so many strains 60+ that so many have asked which virus was it and they got the “I don’t know” response so many times they just decided to call it the Adenovirus.

So, the journey home continues......
