Our family calendar said today - “Count the garden by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall. Count your life with smiles and not tears that roll.” Quiet day overall for Walker, but I did see a real smile on his face 15 min ago and it was for the cleaning lady, Nikki, that has been cleaning his room since he arrived at the ECMO Life Suites :-). That was sweet!! Very sweet to see. A humble soul.

Reflecting on this situation today, I come away with 2 things I know that God has done in this story to date. 1st, he has given Walkers parents and close family a personal glimpse into just how unbearably painful it is to watch your child suffer. And as we know, we were created in God’s image, so if we hurt and suffer in watching our child suffer just how much it hurt God to allow his child, Jesus, to go through the extraordinary pain & humiliation he suffered. Easter!

2nd, God has given Walker an extraordinary view of the depth and height of the human condition in that he witnessed the taste of superior championship victory in 2017 by winning the Super Bowl of the competitive high school Cheer sport by winning Summit and now in 2019 experiencing the total depravity and grimacing pain of temporary defeat at the hands of the AdenoVirus. This will serve him immeasurably in life to have had this stretching of the heart, mind, and soul to be able to relate to the highs and lows that life has to offer. As  a young Walker would say “time to March” onward we go towards home.

Thank you all for your prayers to Walker and his family, please know that your prayers create a lift under our wings that is very real. God Bless!

Everyday I ask Sherry... “How did last night go?” And she responds with a combination of love, determination, fear quickly replaced with faith, and an urging to pray together from Candy’s book of reflections from “Streams in the Desert”! And then she passes along your ( Dave’s) prayerful, hopeful updates. It is and has been a journey together... and the folks that are Marching for Walker grows and grows!!! As God is the DrumMajor, we will continue to march in step.... right out into the open sunlight of God’s love and give praises to Walker’s healing. There are no clocks in Heaven so we must be patient.... God’s time is not our time, and his blessings are not counted by our time. They have no beginning and no end! Blessings to all especially to the wonderful people who are doing God’s work as they minister to Walker. Love, Frances And Dr. B

❤️❤️ Such wise words! So many lessons in this whole ordeal, not only for your family, but for all the families that are watchful and prayful during this huge time of need. We are all witnessing your families’ incredible strength, realizing that it could only be God. And when you mentioned the pain a parent feels seeing their child suffer, it immediately brought to my mind how God, having us as his children, must suffer in pain constantly, as He watches many of us making mistakes or suffering needlessly because will fail to come to Him for help, which He SO desperately wants to give us. Anything is possible with and through God!!! Thank you for all your updates! You are on my mind constantly and in my prayers❤️
