A good day!

All Walkers stats are looking good. Lungs better and he’ll get to take them home with him when he leaves walking out the door of Advent Health Orlando. :-) They reduced his trach size from 8 to a 6 as they will continue to step down the size till not needed. His ECMO setting is down to a 2 and they will continue to wean him off it over coming days only removing when they think he won’t need it again.

He spoke this am with Jeremiah, the CVICU social worker whom we all appreciate, and for the first time started talking about what has happened. He listed all the things he has lost - friends, FAU, cheer sport, time, ability to move well,  etc... and Jeremiah told him well now that you are going to live it’s time to forget what’s gone and start to plan for your future!! (Just writing that brings tears welling up inside as I am so thankful he will have a future!!) Praise God and thank you Lord for your saving grace.

He did a long walk up and down the hall. Candy said it was very funny the look on Walkers face when they told him if he walked to the end of the hall without stopping they would give him a popsicle. And off he went! :-) He told his nurse while stopped during walking that your tough, very tough. Same thing to his PT nurse. And thank God for them!!

We have a lot to celebrate today. Walker is on the road to recovery be it a long road but who cares right. We will get Walker back to his family and friends and cheer buddies. A future he has, lots to do and see and be. Thank you God for today and how you will help us overcome tomorrow!! Amen and Amen.

Such wonderful news! Bless his heart❤️ You tell Walker that God will make up , double-fold for all that Walker “feels” he has lost. The Lord has been with him through every moment of this storm, continually cheering him on, and the rainbow at the end will be more beautiful than Walker could ever imagine! Walker will never be the same.....he will be BETTER because he has seen and experienced the grace and glory of the Lord! So many lives have been touched through this journey! Keep up the great work Walker. Don’t worry about the time you’ve lost.....only look forward. You have your whole life ahead of you!!! Be patient, and do your part, as the Lord TOTALLY restores your body ❤️ Never give up!!!

At this particular point - on this particular night - there really are no words sufficient describe any of this! As I watched him talking with wonderful Jeremiah this morning - it was hard - hard! But totally understandable that he should have these feelings - haven't we all during this journey - not our place to question - how happened we know - why we don't - as Jeremiah told him - one day Walker will answer the why ---because without a doubt - without a doubt - I do not believe God sends events like this - but I KNOW HE can and does use them for good - somewhere - someday - will Walker ever be the same - physically I believe so - but emotionally and mentally ----no - will any of us be - absolutely not! I just PTL - he has a future ---Thank you Lord!!!

Please share with Walker that even those he doesn’t know are praying for him on a regular basis and are so thrilled that the Lord is answering our prayers. And what an uplifting update to hear of his improvement and reward for so much hard work. May God continue to bless him and all of you!

So thankful for the good news! The losses are very real right now and good he can talk about it, yet the hope of a new future is where you and his wonderful healthcare team are helping him to focus. I know God is not the one who caused this, but I know He is using it to make Walker stronger than ever. “We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28. He will also be a more caring person for having gone through such a difficult experience. Praying every day and praising God for the gift of healing. 🙏
