Fathers Day 2019

First I have to thank God for saving my sons life. Next I thank him for all the incredible people in the body of Christ that has supported us through this extraordinary ordeal. And thank you Lord for my family!! I am truly blessed indeed.

The pics are cards I got today, cartoon from paper, and Walkers gift to me that he had his Meemaw buy for me, the heart he drew as one of first things he did after waking up from 20+ days of being sedated. He could barely move his hand and look at the cross that was made in the center. This will be near to me on my wall cherished for as long as I have breath.

I chose to be with Walker this am because there is no place I would rather be than here helping him in any way that I can. When I fell in love with Candy, my love was equal for Walker at 2 yrs old. I was blessed to be given the charge by God to love and protect these two fine people. I’ve been doing a lot of protecting lately :-) of both of them. And so goes my charge.

Maybe you are not aware that I adopted Walker at 7 yrs old. I always say it was one of my finest sales successes ever as his moms was my best. While I will admit it has been challenging to be Walkers Dad, I would not change a thing, except some of my owns mistakes, about the experience. Watching him lead the fun with kids around the campground, the piped piper we always call him and I would hear his name called out more than any other name each day was my pleasure. Seeing him win the Summit was my pleasure and many other wonderful times with more to come :-).

Dr. Botta, his main dr., just stopped by and we talked about him eating more cheeseburgers and ribs fatty yummy stuff and on his way out he stops turns back and says “isn’t it great that we are talking about this stuff? I love that” To God be the Glory!!

Walker was visited by Heissem Jebailey yesterday, who had a similar pneumonia 20 yrs ago and they removed his left lung, to encourage Walker and tell him that he has a long life ahead of doing fun things.   He is now 41 and in great health, he said he would like to be there for Walker best he can. Very cool!!

He is walking well, eating well and sleeping well these are best we can ask of him at moment. Each day getting a little bit better. We always read Walker the book “Leo the late bloomer” which he loved and his recovery has been a late bloomer. Great thing is we have a Walker bloom to watch, to water, to prune, to give sun light and lots of love. 😃😃😍

Please Lord may Walkers health continue to improve and may he grow stronger each day. That all his organs will return to functioning same as you created him. Thank you Lord. Amen

AMEN and AMEN! Heart breaking and gut wrenching as it has been for us all - watching him in pain and stress - he is nothing but pure sweetness of spirit laying there - no place I would rather be! I was with him last night when after doing 12 hour shifts two of his nurses came to see him before they left hospital - one of them had been his nurse early on when he was put on ECMO - the other was with him the when they put Walker in a bed that could be moved totally vertical and she was there the first time - strapped in that he was - they turned bed up and his feet touched the floor! So many prayers - so much love from so many people have rained down on Walker - PTL!
