6-25

Today will be a full day off the vent!! This is huge. Very hard day for Walker Grey. This is pushing him to the max working these lungs is really hard work for him but he is doing it!! His stomach is very upset still not keeping food down but the Docs are not too worried about it. It should calm down once he is less anxious after being off the vent for a week or so.

As Candy says, we are not counting on any time frame for things to move unless his 2 main Docs, Silvestri and Botta say it’s time and where to go. She thinks they are in favor of keeping Walker close by in a FH rehab facility to better monitor him. Which would be good by us for sure.

we ask for continued prayers for supernatural healing of his lungs and kidneys. And that any germ, bacteria, or virus that touches his body will die instantly in the name, above all names, Jesus. Amen.

I want to share with you all a poem that came to me yesterday while listening to Elton John’s song that sings about a candle in the wind. This is what poured out.

Walker’s Flame

Around about mid September 1998 along came sparky

That sparky needed extra special care to rest

Kept safe his mom whispered God's love above

early in the am night of April next from sparky a little flame lit

The little flame was kept lit through machines that could

Till he grew to carry the light home to waiting loving hands

his mom’s hands, grandma’s hands, & great grandma’s hands

They handled Walker flame with care cupping close his wick

Together they kept the little flame safe to love

And love they did porch swing by day

Tucked into his own little cubby at night

Safe from the wind and rain all right

The flame grew stronger each day anew

Gathering new hands to love along the way

Growing to march his family along by flaming boots

March, March he cried and happily march they did

Little flame was special you see, gentle it flickered bright

Capturing many smiles softly like a puddle fills with rain

If our little flame did see a frown, a smile he would catch

To light up another’s world anew, no smile left unmatched

The flame marched through the woods by night

Held aloft by kids with might along a trail to see by light

Umatilla, Ocoee, The Cape, to Westgate, carried bright

Voices rang through the trees, where is he can you see

The flame grew and grew taller and taller so bright

Learning to play string music with dancing fiery licks

Fingers flew across the strings fast then slow sound aglow

Our flame caught fire soon learning to flip and flicker

Across a stage leading other colorful flames to fame

A flamethrower he became blowing heat fierce with aim

‘Twas shortly after leaving home our flame caught a wicked wind

A wind that blew with might to put out a flame so bright

Rain joined the wind and a mighty storm had brewed

He flickered in pain so much wind and rain a flame withstood

Reduced to a tiny heat, the flame struggled to stay a light

Family stood fanning the flame till flight saved the night

The little flame still large in size yet weak in strength

Back to the machines that could, keeping the flame a lit

Working hard night after night, keeping the flame a lit

The hands that held him small were back cupping close the wick

To keep the little flame alive until a strength was lit

He flickered and fanned, and blew about strong were the winds

With prayers aloft each passing day did the little flame live

Live one day and then again, each day a win

Stood Mom, Dad, Sister, Grandma, Papa, Aunties all

Keeping the wind at bay so flickered the little flame

The little flame stood hard against the wind and rain

Fighting to light and keep on glowing bright within

So long he has kept a lit with all that stand in the way

So long he has kept a lit to light up another day

The hands have faces, many tears to date but now

The flame is safe again growing stronger day by day

Their faces bright waiting for the light to walk back in

Our little light that shone so bright, only to dim by wind

Again they handled Walker flame with caring tender hands

Together we will keep our little flame safe to love to love

Growing anew to burn bright, lighting a way Gods love within

So smiles turn to see our flame walk home where once

Again to grow and grow strong, fierce and burning bright.

Amen.

Beautiful expression of the precious life of Walker! I’m praying daily for continued strength, healing, protection and patient endurance. So happy to hear he was off the ventilator for a whole day.
