9-21. Making Lemonade

You know the saying well and we are digging deep to put it into practice daily, ‘Life gives you lemons, make lemonade’. Candy wrote this on a recent Facebook post and she is doing her best to make lemonade considering Walker went on his 3rd ambulance ride in 4 weeks back to the 5th floor ICU where he is today. So, he has the lake view again and got the largest room on the floor, it’s Huge! Making Lemonade.

It’s complicated to put it mildly. From breathing issues, high blood pressures, retaining water due to kidney failure, to (would you believe) a food allergy that happened the last 2 nights in a row from eating Vietnamese Pho. Go figure! Today, the report is that he is breathing well for 1st time in 4 days and he walked 4 strong lapse around the floor without stopping, getting stronger!! Making Lemonade.

Living large. “Thou hast enlarged me while I was in distress”, Psalm 4:1. One of the ways God makes lemonade is as the Psalmist writes declaring that the sorrows of life have themselves been the source of life’s enlargement. As this is the case, Walker, Candy, Laura, and myself are growing daily, hopefully not-in size, but in strength as in iron. We all need the iron of life to strengthen our character. It is iron that builds our strength not gold. Gold graces the few, iron is the common bond to us all. Making lemonade.

On a fun side note, Walker has fallin in love with Corgi dogs and talks about them almost everyday saying he wants one soon to be his companion. All in due time his parents say, but God heard him and yesterday on our way to see him at AdventHealth our young neighbor was walk sitting a dog passing our garage, it was a cute little Corgi! Hmmm hisgraceabides as always.

It is the iron of our Christian bond that binds us together. Your prayers strengthen us, our prayers are strong and can and will create more miracles. And more miracles we will need to bring Walker through this iron sharpening fire. I know we are exhausting, that this need is exhausting but I ask you to not give up on us!

We need your prayers, we need your support to pull through this outrageously difficult scenario. Your iron sharpens our iron and together our prayers have made a young man into a very tough patient that is resilient and continues his fight to overcome. Amen. Thank you for your prayers for Walkers healing and for our strength to care for him.

Prayers and strength every day for Walker and everyone else in your family. Yes, a Corgi would be a great companion for him.
