Change in plans

Well, last I wrote, we thought that Walker would be put on the transplant list by AdventHealth after they said they would do the surgery. Shortly thereafter, for various reasons too many to explain, the team changed their minds and “closed the book” on Walkers case. Of course, we were very disappointed, yet Walker took it in stride and we began circulating his case to Tampa General, Shands, and The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Within a couple of weeks, Walker was contacted by the Mayo Transplant team and invited to come meet with them on Nov 9th to begin their evaluation.

Candy and Walker left for Jacksonville early in the am Nov 9th to begin their Mayo journey where they have have been staying since attending all manner of test and evaluations to continue till the 24th. “It’s really incredible”, “I’ve never seen anything like it”, and “I can’t wait to show you this place”, are just some of the superlative comments they have made and continue to make about all things Mayo. Walker and Candy both have renewed confidence and are excited about how the Mayo team has treated them, giving them lots of personal attention and strong leadership to keep moving forward with Walkers dream of renewed life through transplant. We are very thankful that things took a turn towards the incredible Mayo Clinic where we are confident of the blessings to come.

We have started a new site designed to help raise the funds needed for Walker and his family manage all the expenses involved with a major transplant surgery.

First, and most importantly, thank you for your continued prayers for Walker and his Family. And second, thank you for your love and support of our family. May you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
God is good all the time and All the time God is good!!

Much love the McKnights
