We got “The Call” today!!
I was about to leave for work this morning and Walker calls asking me to come back in the house. I walk in and he tells me, “I got Organs, they called me and we have to leave in a couple of hours”.
We packed up our stuff for an extended stay and the four of us, Walker, Laura, Candy, & I, held hands said a prayer then loaded up and headed north to Jacksonville Mayo Clinic. Currently, we are hanging out in his room and they are prepping Walker getting him ready. The team has gone a long distance, they told us, to harvest both lungs and a kidney from a donor to return sometime tonight. So, they may do the surgery tonight or tomorrow morning depending.
It’s very exiting and super nerve racking all at same time. Candy and I are confident that God has this situation totally in his hands, He has carried Us, carried Walker this far and he will not let us down now. So please keep Walker in your prayers tonight and tomorrow day. I will send updates as things progress.

Praying for all the things - The wisdom and expert skill of all of the surgeons; Comfort and peace for Walker as he faces this enormous challenge and miracle; The strength and power of Jesus to accomplish this for Walker; Peace for David, Candy and Laura as you wait - that you would feel the love and comfort of Jesus' warm embrace around all of you; For the family and other loved ones of Walker's gracious, loving, sacrificial donor - that they may be comforted at this time knowing that another will benefit from this unimaginable gift.
Thank you for the update. Walker will be lifted up before our Lord by many who have been praying for him through the past years. Love!!!!

David - Lifting Walker and his surgeons and medical staff up in prayer as they prepare for this momentous surgery. Lifting up you, Candy, Laura, Gail and all of the McKnight family to give you peace, strength and to know that you are surrounded in God's love and comfort and lifting the Donors family up in thanks and comfort for giving the ultimate gift during a time of great sorrow for them.
