So far, so amazing. Great success!!

Wow! Incredible! A miracle. We could not ask for a better outcome than what we are seeing right now. Walker came through 14 hours of surgery where they removed his bad lungs and replaced them with a new set flown in from far far away and then they inserted a new kidney. The docs said the hardest part and main reason it took so long was the difficulty of removing his dead left lung. So far, all his new organs are operating very well. He is breathing with his new lungs on a ventilator but that will come out shortly and his kidney is producing urine wonderfully. We could not ask for a better outcome for all things transplant since we got the call Tuesday morning, everything has gone according to the Mayo Physicians plans as described to us. Mayo Clinic is absolutely the best!! Thanks be to God for putting Walker in their very capable hands. His family is so very thankful for this miracle of life givin by God for Walker 3.0

Walker 1.0 was born 6 weeks early with very underdeveloped lungs and AdventHealth saved his tiny life. Walker 2.0 had a huge pneumonia that would have ended his life were it not for the open bed God provided on the 8 bed ECMO floor at AdventHealth in 2019 where he survived 63 days on life support and 150 days+ in ICU care. Now Walker 3.0 has a new lease on life to breathe and pee and move about freely to enjoy his life in a “normal” fashion. Of course there is nothing normal about being a major 3 organ transplant patient. He has lots of work to do and lots of protocols to manage and many life changes to make but that is wonderful. A huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders and ours, removed by the hand of God through which all blessings flow.

Walkers experience, our experience, at Mayo Clinic has been nothing short of impeccably smooth and life affirming from the beginning of his interaction with the staff in October 2021 till today, the beginning of his transplant recovery journey. Thank you God, thank you God, thank you for all that you have done to move Walker forward into this new life. Thank you family, thank you friends, thank you everyone that has had the heart to pray for Walker and his family. Your prayers have meant everything to us, to Walker 3.0.
