Third day update

Yesterday 4/8 was a very tough day for Candy especially and me as well. As they tried to wake him and failed many times, finally everyone coming to an understanding that this will be an extended process,  one we have seen before but had great hope would be different this time around. While we were shook up and very scared, the wonderful doctors gave us confidence that his physical condition was good 馃憤 and that they have seen this type of reaction before.

So, today we woke with a renewed resolve that we have been through this with him before and it was tough as nails but somehow through the grace of God he made it through and we made it through almost a 40 day journey to wake him in 2019. That together together, his Mom & Dad wake each day anew in Christ to get back into the frenetic, and often frightful, dance that we witness in watching the incredible staff on this most highest level of care perform.

Here is Candy’s update from today 4/9: Saturday update:
“Walker remains sedated. Kidney still having issues but not rejecting. Lungs are good just a few little things they are working on. Not many changes from yesterday good or bad. Organs are still a thumbs up. He remains on CRRT (like high end dialysis)  no blood pressure meds anymore. Consulting surgery for a tracheostomy as soon as they can. This is for Walkers comfort and safety. If he were awake this would not need to be done.
We are very familiar with the fact that “best practices” and “what generally happens” in these cases does not apply to Walker. He runs on his own time clock.  Today we are more calm and more understanding that this is going to take a long time. We have had to wipe the slate clean of any expectations this time around. This is his journey, his story and he will not be rushed.”

Our hope and ask for prayers is that this time he will wake up sooner, like in a week maybe sooner, to begin his healing recovery work. The longer he stays asleep the more time it takes to recover physically.
