Perspective

They say perspective is in the eye of the beholder.  Wait.....that's beauty.  But whatever, it makes sense in this instance.

Its been a great day for the family members and care team at the hospital. Getting the tube out was great!  Even better is he's talking, albeit very hoarsely, and able to communicate with us.  We remain hopeful.  We are all doing happy dances in our minds.

However, Bob is not doing any happy dances.  He told the doctor he felt awful.  Which we all totally understand - he's been through a lot.  Plus they're drawing down on the pain medicine.  I'm sure it's not fun for him.

He's anxious to get some water (not yet) - needs to pass a swallowing test first, which is given by a speech pathologist.  Having the tube in place doesn't do your throat and vocal cords any favors. Keep your fingers crossed that his body is ready for the test tomorrow.

From our perspective, a great day.  From Bob's perspective, let's just say, he's had better days.
