March 14th-17th

The Speech Therapist had Brenda on the Passy Muir Valve for 30 minutes today and she continued to work on her swallowing. The Physical therapist took Brenda to the rehab room where she worked out on the Elliptical machine for 4 minutes and 35 seconds. Then she went back to her room were she moved onto the stretch chair for about 2 hours and 35 minutes. The Occupational therapist worked her arms today and she did not see any stiffness.

Friday, the Speech therapist capped her for 45 minutes and swallowing was almost at an acceptable level. She may start eating food. The Occupational therapist showed her how to put on her socks with an aid and Brenda was able to do it. She sat in the stretch chair for 2 hours and 45 minutes. The Physical therapist came to the room for her workout.

Saturday, she had a visit from Doctor Perry who was pleased with her progress. She needs to wear the Mask and get off the Ventilator. Just because her vitals are all good ,which means she does not need the Ventilator. We will keep encouraging her.

Sunday,she spent Saturday night off the Ventilator, let's hear a big Hurray! She rested the whole day.
