Goodbye Cottage, hello Home

We are home.  I walked 1.5 miles this afternoon, in slow puttering adventures on our street.  I had a few farts, and am really looking forward to getting my gut going tomorrow.  My abdomen is very sore from the 5 incision holes and all the air they filled me up with to get a good look-see in the back recesses and caverns.  But pain meds are working and I hope for another good sleep.

I am up for visitors, especially Saturday early evening and Sunday afternoon, as Bruce hopes to take a break from nursing duty and sing at the Quire of Voyces Concert.  If you're up for a short visit any time this weekend, send me an email with a time that works and we can coordinate.  No need to bring food -- I'm still on spinach shakes and Ensure.

Thanks for all the well wishes.  We read all your lovely thoughts as I went into surgery and in recovery.  All the love warmed my soul, MK

Yes, I almost spit out my drink at the “fart” mention. Having had 2 c-sections I can relate to the painful extra air in the gut. Loved your pics. And love you. Glad all went well and your incision sites are so much smaller this time. XO

So glad to know you’re home and starting to clock the miles. Keep your feet on the ground until all that air leaks away. Those many surgical holes certainly gave Porlock plenty chances to escape. He (surely it’s not a she) is no longer the dreaded interloper. He's been expelled as an inglorious, green, bilious blob. YEAH! You’ve done such an amazing job getting through those scary weeks before surgery. Right now I would love to join you on your puttering neighborhood walks (I just might be able to keep up with you), but they’ll no longer be puttering by the time we see you. YEAH for that too! Rest well. Love, Milly

I'm sure it's great to be home... but spinach shakes and Ensure? I'm hoping you can get off those soon! I'll make something for you when you can eat more! Lovely incisions... looking forward to seeing your smiling face.

Yikes! Those are some poke holes! But they sure beat the alternative and I’m thrilled that you’re up and walking and FARTING. Hooray!! Glad Bruce will be singing- Hodgie is missing that, I know. Our beautiful beach trip has turned into a rainy weekend- can’t have everything. Off to do laundry in a Spanish laundromat— hasta luego! 😘😘

Michelle, you look so well already! I am happy for you that you are home now--healing is always easier at home. Keep walking and keep smiling. more on Harvard cannabinoid research: I still don't see any mention of cancer research (they seem to be focusing on neurobiology), but the basic research will prove valuable across the board. My guess is they are unaware of the cancer potential, which presumably they would realize would be a very big catch. interview with the researchers starts at 33:00 https://www.wgbh.org/news/national-news/2019/05/17/boston-public-radio-full-show-05-17-19 http://news.mit.edu/2019/alumnus-gift-establishes-broderick-fund-for-phytocannabinoid-research-0430 https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2019/04/alumnus-gives-harvard-and-mit-9-million-for-cannabis-research/ https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/marijuana/2019/04/30/harvard-mit-share-million-gift-study-marijuana-health-effects/msGRE3aXYyzWjC4iBpwOEP/story.html https://www.wbur.org/commonhealth/2019/04/30/broderick-cannabis-science-harvard-mit
