Just a quick update
Hello everyone,
It has been a few days since the last update. Things have been relatively quiet. That is good.
His PT and OT therapists have agreed that Derek does not need to come in weekly for therapy anymore. We will check in with them about every month or so or as needed. This is good. That means, because of his hard work, he is regaining his mobility and strength and life skills necessary to not need weekly therapy. We still do many of the things that he would do at therapy at home. But if the need returns, we can always go back. But at this point, overall, he is gaining strength and stamina. Don't get me wrong, he still has up and down days.
He still has days he is very tired. But he also has days that he appears to be strong.
Thanks to everyone who is helping in anyway to help heal Derek. It may be big or seemingly small, but in reality everything anyone does is big.
Today seems like a good day for Derek. He has a renewed spirit to do what it takes for healing. He still is not thrilled about the pokes (shots), but he understands the potential benefits. That does not take the pain away, I wish I could take that away.
Keep praying for strength for him, and for wisdom for us.

Again Thank You for the update. I/We wait for them. It is truly great to hear that he has some good days. Hopefully the good days will exceed the not so good in the near future. Our prayers continue for all of you. Know that all of you are loved very much. Leroy & sandy
Your updates, even to say "there are no real new updates" are very inspiring to read. I look forward to hearing how he is doing and thank you for taking the time to write them, as I understand that you have your hands full with two little ones at home! I think of you and your family often and wish you were still in Albuquerque! :) God's speed to you all and please keep the updates coming as you are able! You have a whole lot of prayers coming from New Mexico daily!
Just wanted to let you know how proud I am of how you work with Derek. I am glad to hear his strength and stamina are returning even if it isn't a daily occurrence. I know you will continue to work with him. How is his appetite? Hugs and Kisses to both Kate and Derek. Love, Mom
