Interesting Week

Derek had another vaccine treatment this week.  He does not mind the flying or the hotel or even the hospital, but he despises the pokes (shots).  And he knows that every time we go to Pittsburgh it is at least two shots.  That makes it hard. They said the tumor was about the same size.

We went to a diner for some food, It was the only place within walking distance of the hotel.  The server noticed our name tags from the hospital and stopped and prayed with us.  That was super cool.  And Derek really appreciated that.

Flights to and from went just fine.  The night we returned ended up being a long night.

It was around 10:03 and Derek started complained about an upset stomach while he was in bed and then proceeded to puke for the next hour.  And in between puking, he described what we best understood as vertigo. No fun.

After calling neurosurgery, they advised us to come in.  He stopped puking by the time we got there (there was nothing left), but they held him there over night. The next day they removed 12 cc (ml) of fluid and then he slept a lot and then they sent him home later.  I think we will start to go in more regularly to make sure that the fluid build up is under control.  But they seemed to think that the extra fluid built up was not the cause of the hour long puking.  I have no other idea what could have caused it.  they want to do some scans to try and identify where this fluid is coming from.

That's all for now Folks,

Thanks

Zell

What a blessing that the tumor isn't growing! I'll keep you in my prayers everyday, Derek and Young Family. It was so good to see you all last weekend. The benefit that your church put together was wonderful.

Derek want to tell you how much we enjoyed seeing you and getting a picture with you. We had lots of fun at your benefit. Had some really good food too. So nice to see Kate, your Mom and Dad. Got a big laugh out of your Dad getting his haircut. Hope you aren't too tired out today. Take care. GGRudy and I love you and your family very much.
