Fantastic progress!
Emma has started in-home therapy in combination with her three mornings per week at the clinic. There's no denying that the clinic therapy had been bringing her out of her shell, but since the in-home therapy started Emma is a completely different girl! She is engaged, making good eye contact, and talking... a LOT!
Thank goodness that the insurance company saw the light!
Tomorrow there will be a story about Emma and her road to therapy in the Wisconsin State Journal, so we will share that once we have a link.
We still do not have Adam's and my genetic test results back, which is frustrating. We can't meet with the specialist until this happens, so we are desperately hoping that these come through soon! 6 weeks so far!
Two weeks ago we received a really lovely monetary donation in honor of Emma, for the Ronald McDonald House charities, so we will be making another purchase in the near future to deliver! My parents have come over to visit and they brought with them a lovely gift from a friend of theirs that says "grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference". Our neighbors came over last week with some cookies. Every day we have a kind word or a thoughtful gift brought to us. It's simply impossible to be overwhelmed when so many people are constantly buoying our spirits. Thank you!!
With much love,
Katy
