Hello everyone,
I want to apologize for the length of time I have gone between updates. Please know that when you hear no news from this page - it is GOOD NEWS! :)[...]
Evie has settled well at Mom and Paul's. She has a nurse and a PSW come everyday for the time being. An OT was also coming today.
Her back is still healing. It's a process. She goes to the Cancer Clinic at KGH tomorrow to get some questions answered and hopefully a plan/timeline of treatments to come. [...]
Ev is being discharged today. We all have some reservations about it. Yesterday she walked the furthest she has walked so far, down to the end of the hospital floor and back around and down. She stood to brush her teeth yesterday too. [...]
Yesterday she walked up 3 steps and back down!
She MAY be home (mom and Paul's) by the end of the week!!! [...]
Evie is still in the hospital, in KGH in Kingston (thankfully!). She is quite happy with the doctors and nurses there, and the care they are giving her. [...]
J, Quinton and I saw Auntie Ev today for the first time since she's been home. Our house has been full of virus, after infection, after virus for the past few weeks (and months); we didn't want to see her earlier and give her our germs.[...]
After hearing Brockville it was later revised to KGH...yeah! I just talked to her and they are getting her ready for her flight. She is excited to be coming home. I can't wait to see her. Now we have to be vigilant not to share any germs with her. I actually brought my mask back from San Diego with me. We'll have to play Quinton's peek-a-boo game from behind our masks! Welcome home Ev! Love ya![...]
We just heard that Evelyn is coming home tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a bed in ICU at the Brockville Hospital - which was not our first choice - but we have been told it will be easier to get her into KGH once she is in Brockville.[...]
Evelyn's blood count and plasma go down too low basically everyday, and they are having to do many blood transfusions to keep them at a safe level. We held off on the "announcement" of the diagnosis Evelyn received of Multiple Myeloma, because at the time Evelyn hadn't been told, and they waited to tell her until she could talk and ask questions. Evelyn's friends are like her family, she cares for you and spends so much time with many of you, that I feel her friends deserve to know too. Also, Ev would tell several of you in a heartbeat herself if she could.[...]
