We found out on Wednesday that the Doctors at the San Diego Hospital called Ev's doctor in Brockville (last weekend!) and were told he could help get her into the Brockville hospital - since he has doctor privileges at that hospital. Since they were told this, they didn't even have Ev on the list for the Kingston General Hospital. Very frustrating. [...]

Sorry for the lack of an update yesterday and today - my son and I are sick with severe inner/middle ear infections & fevers. I have had a few people asking for an update, forgive me but it's easier to do in one place. [...]
Today consisted of ALL of us hasseling the social worker, case manager and Ev's insurance - to get HER HOME.
They say they are just waiting for a bed to open at KGH, Brockville or Belleville hospital.[...]
Mom is worried about leaving today. She wishes there was a confirmed plan for WHEN Ev is being transported to a hospital here.
The social worker has recommended she keep her flight though. She leaves later this morning, though she will see Ev before she leaves. [...]
Ev has been moved to a different room, on a lower level care floor.
On the floor she was on (for a day, out of the CCU) she was hooked to a lot of monitor's that went off every 15 minutes and didn't allow her to get much rest.[...]
I just called the hospital and was able to speak to Auntie Ev! :) :)

All we are doing now is WAITING... waiting for what?? FOR EV TO COME HOME!!!!!
They told mom it MAY be tonight. We are just waiting for a bed here to open up for Ev. Best case scenario is she is home by Monday night, because mom will be home early Tuesday morning. [...]

Ev sat up in bed today, got up, and walked a couple steps to a chair. She sat up in the chair for half an hour!![...]
Evelyn progressed so much yesterday, that they are moving her to a regular room, out of ICU today. She is off intubation and all tubes are out, including the feeding tube. The only thing left is an IV. [...]
Mom has asked we wait to discuss her diagnosis until Evelyn knows. They are waiting until she can talk a bit more.
