Gettin Better Every Day!

A visit from Great Grandson, John, (and his parents) always put a smile on Joe's face!

Joe continues to do very well.  A little nausea here and there, especially in the evenings, but vitals have been steady and he continues his walks.  He's doing about 4 to 5 laps a day.  His goal is to get to 10 laps a day.  Walking in the house is a little easier than walking outside because of the terrain but his back does start to hurt after a couple of laps.

His big job for today (Friday) is to help mom carry groceries into the house.  She tells him to go sit down and he just continues to carry groceries into the house.  As long as they are not over 20 lbs a bag, this is good exercise for him.  Knowing mom, 20 lbs a bag is not an impossiblity!

Apparently he's watched all the westerns ever made and has graduated to "how to put a jaguar" together show.  Probably won't be long until he's actually trying to do that.

Today I asked him if there was anything he wanted me to put in his update to his "fan base."  He said that he has been overwhelmed with all the cards and donations he's received.  He's received several cards and some where they've put him on prayer lists and lit novena candles and are praying for him daily.  He's also had some calls from some of his long time friends/customers which he's really enjoyed.  All the well wishes, cards, donations and calls have deeply touched him.  He says "Thank You!".  We (as the family) also say "Thank You" for your ongoing support.

Next doctor visit in two weeks with the regular oncologist.

Many Blessings!

Hi Joe and Nancy, I shared your wonderful news and photos with Mom Knaebel. At 92 she really doesn't have much interest in learning how to work the computer, but she does enjoy looking at photos and reading the news if someone else is working the computer. We are all so thankful for your continued progress and we will definitely keep you in our prayers. Love the photos with the precious Great grandson. Hang in there Joe and keep up the laps. You are one of God's special miracles and an example for all of us to follow. Treasure each day of Life. Chris

Great news. Seems like things are getting just a little easier each and every day. Lifting groceries can certainly be counted as exercise. Next week your mission is to carry the groceries around the house with you before you put them away - ha! As far as putting a jaguar together, I'm sure you could already do that. Let's just stick with watching old movies and playing with little John. Love ya.
