So Much to be Thankful for this Year

This Thanksgiving was extra special!  Joe is continuing to do very well.  Vitals are all good and he continues to get stronger.

Last Tuesday he did make the trip to Jeff City with his good friend as a wing man.  Joe drove up and back the entire way.  Of course, the next day his legs were sore - wonder why - it takes leg muscles to drive 4 hours!   So Wednesday was a rest day and Thursday he made the trip to Michelle's house (about 40 miles) for Thanksgiving where he proceeded to eat two plates of food - and I didn't get one picture of it.  He visited with family for a few hours and ate, ate, and ate.  I made 44lbs of turkey and it was all GONE!  Sunday mom made a big pot of Ham hock & beans (pictured above) and he also delighted in eating a big plate full.  So we know his appetite is back!!

I had the opportunity to be at the shop 3 days last week (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) and it's so humbling to speak with so many customers who ask about Dad and how he's doing, letting me know they are praying for him, and hearing over and over what a "good guy he is - the world would be a much better place if there were more people like Joe".

He's at Day 87 today!!  Next Friday he goes back to Barnes, meets with the specialist and then has his bone marrow biopsy. We should find out by December 19 if his stem cell transplant worked!

Keep the prayers coming!  God Bless.

So good news and what a good time to get your appetite back. There is no better meal than thanksgiving dinner and the ham and beans must be a Hood thing, cause we love them too! Can't wait to hear from the doctor next week, I know it must have worked, I can feel it in my bones. We love you guys!
