Day 79 - Homeward Stretch!

Joe continues to do very well.   Vitals are all good and he's continuing to get stronger.  He's really starting to sound more like himself when I talk to him on the phone.  He's staying busy with all those garage projects (of course) - yes, there are heaters in the garage!

He's had a big week of eating!  Travis and I went to visit on Tuesday night and had dinner.  He also got to have dinner this week with Courtney, Big John, and Little John.  A good time was had by all - even little John!  This is typically little John's reaction when he either (1) doesn't get the table food he wants OR (2) is very tired.  My guess is both are happening in this picture.  He doesn't yet realize he's only 8 months old and doesn't get table food yet.  He keeps trying to convince us otherwise.

Joe also visited with his longtime friends at their monthly "Card party".  He has a great group of friends that were all buddies in high school that have stayed in touch all these years.  They have a poker card party once a month and this was Joe's first time back since his transplant!

He's in for a very busy week this week.  Tuesday, he and his good friend, Walt, are driving to Jeff City for the day to have a car inspected by MO State Highway Patrol for the shop.  Of course, Thursday is Thanksgiving.  Luckily, he has a personal shopper so he won't need to be braving the Black Friday stores and shoppers.  He is, after all, only 79 days old!

Thanks for all your continued prayers and support!

Great news all around----and yes, we have much to be thankful for. Who would have thought that 79 days ago, that you would be working in the garage and going out with friends! Stay strong---we all love you very much.
