February 7, 2018.

Yesterday was a strange day for me.  I was wiped out all day long and took a lot of naps.  My guess for being wiped out is that my bone marrow is starting to kick into high gear!  My white blood cell count went from 5 yesterday to 30 this morning.  They tell me that once it starts to go, it can double or triple each day.  If things stay on track, I should be able to go home early next week.

One of the toughest things about this whole experience has been the lack of appetite paired with the fact that nothing tastes good.  It is so hard to keep food in my body when it tastes so bad getting it down. I am hopeful that as my numbers continue to climb that my taste buds will begin to get back to normal.  I would love to have a bite of pizza that tastes exactly like pizza.  Maybe next week.

I am super excited about going home next week and be around my stuff.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that you stay on schedule to go home next week. Once you get settled in at home I am sure your taste buds will be delighted to get some of Karen's home cooking. Keep staying positive and moving forward. Stay strong Kevin!
