Home sweet home!!

Hi! It's still Di...

He's HOME! :) We got home yesterday afternoon, Korbin's settled in, and the meds are working great.  We like to say that he's a very healthy guy- except for the cancer thing...

The nurse from hospice visited and helped me organize his meds so we can keep track of what he needs. He's been spending time resting, walking around the house and, most importantly, snuggling the cat- who was thrilled to sleep with him all night last night. Korbin's having a hard time focusing for any length of time on TV or books, but listening to books seems to be something he can enjoy. We also found a audio book service through Amazon where we can download audio books.  Naturally the first book he downloaded was Harry Potter.

Hospice supplied a hospital bed and a wheelchair for us so Korbin can have another comfortable place to rest at home, and so we can get out and about more easily.  The nurses, social workers and other support staff have continued to be so helpful too.

The kids and I went out to supper and to Gilda's Club last night, and it was really great to catch up with everyone there. Korbin is excited for sibling lunch today with Hilary, Dee and Scott. I'm working on school stuff and getting excited about going back to my 4K kiddos. I got to stop in and see my AM class yesterday, and they're the best therapy ever!

Hopefully life here will settle down into our new normal for a while and I won't need to do any updates again anytime soon! :) (In other words, no news from us is good news!) Or maybe you'll hear from Korb sometime if he's feeling up to writing an update...

Thanks as always for all the prayers, help and support.  I continue to say that even though there are a lot of tough things in our lives right now, we are so blessed to be surrounded by so many kind hearted people.

:) Di

I am happy to hear you are home and settled in. There are a ton of us praying for you and your family. I had to chuckle, when you said the first thing Korbin "listened to" was Harry Potter, although it didn't surprise me. Take Care and God's Blessings to all.

Hi Korbin, So glad you're feeling better and home (as I'm sure you are too!) We missed you at Gilda's and hope you are feeling strong enough to come to group next Tuesday. Keep up your positive attitude and try looking into alternative therapies/treatments. As Joan Baez stated "Action is the antidote to despair." Thinking about you and wishing you all the best! - Jill

Hi Korbin, You don't know me, but I know your amazing wife, Diane. I'm the Spanish teacher at Little Vikings. Diane was kind enough to include me in the update on your situation. I just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my prayers. Marti
