Always be prepared

I was never a Boy Scout, but one of my favorite verses is Peter's command to always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that you have with gentleness and respect (1 Pt 3:15). I've been put to the test as three different nurses have asked me about my tattoo. In a mix of German, Spanish, and English responses, I've tried to answer for the hope that I have. I have a master that I will forever serve, and my tattoo marks me as his permanent doulos - bond slave.

My injury didn't change my master's ownership, but my recovery does change his current assignment for me. While my goal is to get back into the classroom, the process requires me to be a responsible witness in rehab. Yesterday, the head doctor told me he was not satisfied with my short answer that I moved to a country where I did not speak the language because God told me to; he insists upon hearing the whole story before I leave. Well, as most of you know, the whole story includes a Savior who was willing to redeem me from eternal condemnation and only asked my obedience in return. Please pray I'll be prepared and have gentleness and respect when I get to answer his questions.

God is in control. Most of the time we don't know what He is up to in our lives. May He use you to have an effect on the staff that is working with you . I have been is a medical situations at times and I don't think I had such a positive attitude as you. May He continue to use you in the lives that are involved in your recovery. We will continue to pray for you and Hope your parents will able to arrive soon. Mike Greenhoe's Mom Marcy Greenhoe

How wonderful that the doctor was not satisfied! Now you will indeed have the opportunity to glorify God! I'm sure it will be effortless as He will speak through you exactly what the doctor needs to hear! May the peace, encouragement and wisdom of the Spirit flow through you to share His message and the story of what Jesus has done for you personally. I'm feeling the warmth of the spirit as I type this to you, so I'm encouraged that this is how it will be. I pray for you frequently throughout each day, Laura. May God help you with your pain...it's at the top of my list..but the list for you is pretty long. Be wrapped in His love and keep us updated. Much love, Diana Stoerzbach

Alyssa told us about your tatoo after Spiritual Formations class one day! :) CHEERS to you, and to the Master you serve who has prepared these good works in advance that you should walk in them! (Eph. 2) hugs!

Love it, Laura, this is fantastic how God is using you for His glory--which is what you've always wanted. I think I have told you about my niece, Lauren, who has myriad serious and chronic health issues (your Mom can tell you if you don't know). Anyway, I always tell her what a witness she is for Christ with all the medical staff she encounters and the grace with which she accepts the yoke God has put on her. You are such a mighty tool for the Lord right where He has you. Praying for so many hearts to open!
