C Day

D Day has been re-named C DAY.

The night before C Day and I keep thinking about getting zapped in the head in my Anthony Hopkins helmet.  It is not a pleasant thought.  I hope I can sleep tonight...  I am not expecting any side effects after my first treatment tomorrow.  I am expecting side effects to come a few weeks later.  That is what i have heard from other people.[...]

Treatment Countdown Is On

My first entry on my new lap top! Bear with me! Apparently, unbeknownst to me, my sister Susan sent out a plea asking if anyone had an old lap top they were not using and would be willing to donate to me to continue my blog. It's harder than heck to try to write it on my phone and I am a stickler when it comes to proper spelling. It has been driving me bonkers seeing all my spelling errors and just errors in general, and on top of all that i just traded my old phone in for a newer version. And that same day I got the newer phone, i was admitted into the hospital. So needless to say - my family and friends were getting some texts that were waaaaaay out there. Let's just say sometimes I couldn't even decipher them myself. When they would say, "NETTIE, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?", my reply would have to be honest and I'd have to say foolishly, "I HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE" or "YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE". So please be patient as I learn to use a lap top now This is my first time using a lap top. I'm one those girls who is perfectly fine without too many changes in my life.Thank you so much for the person who donated this wonderful laptop. I promise to practice on it and just keep getting better and better. Soon there will be minimal errors.[...]

A Summer Month of Life Changes

Blog time. So much has happened since my last entry. Many life changes.

I busted out of Methodist Hospital a couple of days early, due to the newest member of my medical team, "Dr. Blue Cross Blue Shield".  He told me I was well enough to leave.  It kind of freaked me out knowing I had never gone to his office to see him before, and now he was telling me it was time to go home.  I was excited to get home, but I was upset at how it happened, that AN INSURANCE company told me it was time to go, instead of my very own doctor who knows my case from top to bottom.  [...]

PT Is Not A Piece Of Cake

August 6, 2018 , 8:41 pm

Day 3 in physical therapy was not a piece of cake.  I about fell asleep during physical therapy today, I was so tired.  I told my nice PT guy, “If you hear me snoring, it is real, not pretend, so wake me up. Don’t take it personally”.  I told him I wanted to continue my therapy, but I was just so tired.  He said he would wake me up, but added.  “Nettie, you are kinda hurting my feelings here!”.  I think he thought I thought he was boring, even though he is not.[...]

Moving Day

August 2, 2018, 9:50 pm

I had to move to a new floor today.  I had to go to the rehab floor because I can’t move my left side very good.  I am going to have to work really hard to get back to myself.  I can’t believe last week I was kayaking in a kayak and this week I can’t walk.  I can’t walk by myself.  It scares the hell out of me. [...]
