February 19

Good morning.  Meghan is finally feeling better.  She had two friends over this past weekend and this seemed to really help.  Tomorrow begins the 4th and final cycle of chemo.  Chemo 3 days this week and one day next week and then she is done with phase one of this process.  We will be meeting with the doctors this week regarding her treatment plan for radiation.  Then we will know when it will start and for how long.[...]

February 12

Since February 6th, Meghan has had a rougher time dealing with the side affects of the chemo.  The worst right now is mouth sores which makes it hard for her to talk and eat.  The back pain has subsided for the most part, but she is having pains in other parts of her body.  Went to the hospital today for her blood count check as well as a pulmonary function test, EKG, and sonogram of her chest area.  Overall everying went well, just have to wait for the results.[...]

Feb. 6, 2013

Meghan is currently at the clinic getting the final dose of chemo for cycle 3.  She is still doing great.  Has her good and bad days again with the back pain and stuborn girl that she is :) refuses to take anything for it.  She is tough!!!  So after today she will be 3/4 of the way done!!  Yahoo!!!  One more cycle to go.  We will be meeting soon with the doctor about her radiation treatments.[...]

1/30 update

Round 3 day 1 is alomost over. When I left Meghan and mom at UMMC, Meghan was sleeping. Meghan will spend tonight and possibly Thursday night there. Michele said Meghan slept most of the day. Probably a good thing becasue ya can't do much hooked up to an IV. Meghan got to her room early this time 3:00PM, thanks to the Nurses for working with us, last time was 10:00PM.[...]

Results are in from the PET Scan!  Great news!! The mass in Meghan's chest has reduced by 1/2 so is now about 5 cm.  The lymphnodes in her neck are now normal size.  The doctors are confident that by the time Meghan finishes the last two cycles the mass will have shrunk down completely. [...]

Wednesday Meghan had the PET scan, we are waiting the results. We hoped to hear them by now but haven't so Monday we will be calling UMMC. Meghan did get good news on Wednesday, her blood count was up so the dreaded daily shot could be stopped until next round starts.[...]

Today is the day that Meghan goes in for her first scans since starting chemo. We are praying that the news will be "Good News". We will post the results as soon as we find out. Everyone's prayers have made this journey so much easier up to this point. Thank You!!!

1/20 update II

Today was an awesome day and we have awesome friends. Today our friends Ryan, Lauren, Taylor & Carson Houck shared the numbers from the "Fight Like A Girl" T-shirt fundraiser.
