HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!

Mike turns 43 today! I think this is the first time he has spent his birthday at home, since he's usually in the field. His doctors ultimately decided that he couldn't be anywhere around the dust and dirt, combine, semis, grain carts, tractors, elevators, or anything else, harvest related. He took the news pretty hard, but he's adjusting.

As far as everything else goes, Mike's feeling great. I'm actually glad that they postponed his transplant since it's giving us these few months of *almost* normal. We're enjoying being together, doing things as a family, and trying to keep his mind off of Harvest.

He will get another dose of Brentuximab on Thursday, then a CT scan on Halloween to make sure the cancer isn't growing. (I don't think it is- he feels too good!) On the 21st of November, he has to go through another long day of appointments to prepare for transplant again, and then on the SAturday after Thanksgiving, he will get admitted to the hospital for his stem cell transplant.

I feel much more confident, at ease, and ready for the rough 3 months that transplant will bring. It feels good knowing he's going into it, feeling stronger and healthier. We feel ready, this time.

Sorry this is a short and sweet update, but I know it's been awhile since I've updated at all. Life's just been too good....

Hope we don't burn the house down tonight with all these candles we have to light for him.... Not that I'm saying 43 is old...buuuuuttttt......it sounds pretty far away from where I sit at 32!  ;)
