Day +8 |1-26-17|

Day 8 already? The past week has flown by, but I'm not sure how. There has been a lot of down time, too much TV watching, and more naps than a cat takes (by Mike).

The exciting news from this past week is that my first nephew was born on January 19th! My sister, Jen, and her husband, Stephen welcomed their first baby, Stephen William (Will) Prudden. I got to visit him while Mike was in the clinic for a little bit. I was surprised then, to learn that my mom and Allen were coming down to meet Will and they had Reid with them! To see my own baby boy brought me to tears and made me so happy. He wasn't too interested in the baby, so I guess it's a good thing that he won't ever be getting a younger brother or sister!

Mike's been getting fluids most days at the clinic (we go everyday), and a couple of the days he has gotten platelets. His counts are looking really good so far. They're starting to come up, and the doctor said that they're coming up quicker than expected. Other than that, like I said earlier, he's really just been sleeping.

This morning he woke up to the reality of the effects of chemo- as he was able to pull clumps of hair out of his head. So he asked me to buzz it short, and I think he will shave it. It didn't bother me near as much this time. I know that just as fast as it fell out, it will soon start growing back, and hopefully this is the last time he ever has to go through this bald head thing... (Until he's old, anyways!!)

We have gotten some great letters in the mail, some awesome care packages, and we can feel all of the love and prayers being sent our way. Thank you for that!

We're more than ready to come home, which hopefully will be soon!
