An Outing & Meal Train! - 7/9/17

Oh friends, today was another great day, and after I write about that I’ve got a practical way you can help us out at the end of this update!

The light and sound sensitivity has drastically decreased, we’re able to do normal life around him most of the day, and while he does need to rest a lot, he’s been able to watch a lot of movies, use his computer, and guys—HE WENT TO THE JESUS LOVES KZOO EVENT TODAY! We had to be crazy cautious, because he’s reaching that point when his white blood count could be dropping, but he wore a mask (which befuddled Esther!) and kept a 7-foot-plus radius around him and he was able to stay for about 15 minutes and see our WorshipArts students and alumni perform Now Behold The Lamb. It was amazingly good to see our community, worship with Esther, and just be a family.

Appetite isn’t anywhere near normal, but it’s drastically better compared to when he was receiving chemo. Please continue to pray for the food he can eat to increase, and for the food that he does eat to nourish and equip his body to fight this fight.

Just as a reminder, our current treatment plan is four cycles of 5 intense, 8 hour days of doctor visits plus chemo, then two weeks where we go in for just two days, spread apart, then repeat. We’re in the two week break and we don’t have to go back for chemo until Friday, so I’m looking forward to him regaining his strength over the next few days as we rest and prepare for the next round of chemo. Unless God performs a documented miracle (which could totally happen because we will be taking tests along the way to see how the chemo is working and I know we are praying with so much faith!), we are planning on this series of chemo treatments lasting until the end of September.

One super practical way you can help is bringing a meal! We don’t have super intense guidelines, and both meals we can eat the evening you bring them or meals we can freeze for later, are so very welcome and will be a huge help to us.

My friend has organized a meal train here: http://bit.ly/peterwebbmeals

I have been praying & will continue to do so throughout your treatments. God is certainly greater than your circumstances.

Praise the Lord! Yes, and do be careful around others as you know he is so very vulnerable right now. Praying!!!!
