Things are looking up!

Physically:

The first cycle of an additional chemo infusion therapy was very well tolerated.

Rocco’s energy level is steady and appetite is great.

Grateful:

A big shout out to E.W. Scripps Adam and Kaydee for hosting us for a front row seat high up and overlooking the huge Labor Day fireworks show.  Choreographed to a live music soundtrack on WEBN. Here's a one minute timelapse of the 30 minute show...

Thank you to the chefs for cooking wonderful evening dishes and btw: everything tastes great!! We have quite a collection of empty containers to prove it!

Thank you Annie for all of your help with transportation for family.

Spirits are up:

The love and support of family came together from Colorado and Seattle this weekend, pitching in in small and large ways. This made things easier. We walked a lot together, along the river and at the Khron Conservatory. We shared laughter and tears and hugged long and often.

Rocco and Brooke Summers - sat down for the first time to watch the first of a 6 part series they co-hosted and produced together 20 years ago for a PBS series about the human body called, Healthward Bound –A life Long Journey with family and friends.

For those who missed the eclipse guided meditation for Rocco, here is a link to one you can listen to on your own schedule -anytime. Thank you so much Kristina!

Our new puppy, Winston is getting bigger!  AHHHHHHH... LOL From 10 lbs last week to 14lbs this week...

He can sit on command at 8 weeks. Unheard of but to us not surprising that Rocco has such a smart little creature in his sphere. Go Winston!

The bees are humming along, making wax and honey with Kendall’s magical care and Ben’s steady resolve.

Thank you to everyone for continued posting messages. He reads the new ones each day over breakfast and re reads past ones many times for connection to you and to stay the course with a smile!

Pictures from our nutty family party week are coming soon.

With LOVE,

Denise

So glad to hear!!! We are constantly sending good vibes right to that head and heart of yours Rocco. In fact, that song we did inspired us to write our own song called Sailing, and with any luck, in the next few weeks I'll send it to you. I will see you this October date TBD. Love and hugs to you all

It fills me with such great joy to know that the teacher is mastering his own hurdles and being an example to those of us who are cheering in the wings. Wait a minute what did I just say ? Did that even make any sense ? Bottom line: yay Rocco.

Relieved, hopeful, grateful for this truly good news. It is surely a blessing to visit with family from afar and to be surrounded with caring companions human and canine. (And apian! And If they had the chance, it would probably be feline, equine, bovine, avian... It's hard to imagine any species that could resist Rocco's glowing goodness. I imagine him sitting outdoors with birds flitting around him like St. Francis. Or Cinderella. ;-) May peace, strength and love continue with you all on the journey.

Dear Rocco and Denise and Kendall, We are so glad the infusion is going well and that Rocco is tolerating it.. We carry you with us wherever we go, tucked in the folds of our hearts, safe and loved and protected. Here's a poem for you that Mary Oliver wrote about her dog Percy-- "I ASK PERCY HOW I SHOULD LIVE MY LIFE" Love, love, love, says Percy. And hurry as fast as you can along the shining beach, or the rubble, or the dust. Then, go to sleep. Give up your body heat, your beating heart. Then, trust. Love to all, Mary & Rick

I'm so thrilled to hear that things are looking up. I haven't climbed a mountain or build an altar to you. I am too far away to cook for you, but I think of you every day and send you healing thoughts. I am glad you have so much support around you, and nothing beats the pure joy of having a silly puppy around to provide healing laughter. Much love from California. Cousin Terrie and Bob
