This is very hard. It seems that the insult that occurred 2 Saturday’s ago when he was taken off ECMO has had a profound effect on Walker. His Meema had a great friend of hers visit Walker today and she said “it seems he has lost his fire”. While his body has been for all intents and purposes been getting better his recovery seems to have stalled. We believe his recovery would be further along had he had the fire during last 10 days to get better like he was while on ECMO.
As if this wasn’t already extremely tough on him and us to date, now we have a very afraid mindset that is pushing back at recovery efforts. To say that his parents and family are distraught over this is much to mild. Scared ....less is more like it. We are seeking outside specialists at this time that could help with an ICU trauma case.
So, to all our loyal prayer partners, We ask that you pray specifically for 2 things - one that Walker will again find the fire to fight for his life and that his stomach will heal so that he can start to successfully eat and drink. Everything he has been eating and drinking to date does not stay down long enough to make a difference.
Lord, please hear my prayer today. All things are under your power, through you all things are possible. We pray today for Walker that he will overcome this fear that is gripping his mind that he will give this up to you today. We ask for the fire to return to his belly, the fire of life! And finally, that his stomach will begin to work the way it was designed by you when you first created him. Thank you Jesus for this we pray. Amen and Amen!

My prayers will continue daily for Walker, as well as Candy &Dave. I don't know what else I can do to help. I am with Jean, I would love an address to send Walker a card or letter, something to get his fire started again. He's so strong and doesn't need to loose that. My heart and prayers are with you all.
