Haven’t known what to say really for days. Walker is about same physically and this am one of his main Doctors, Dr. Silvestri, paid him a visit. He was very kind, as he heard Walker had refused to do his PT again this am, and stopped by to tell him that he understands his fear but that he can overcome this to get back to 98% !! of his youthful self. That we are all here to help him get there. Thank you Doc.
After several tough days, things are looking up today. His nurse today, Tina, has been instrumental in devising a plan that gives his Mom and Dad the ability to get him up and moving even if he doesn’t want to. And this has changed the trajectory of this day for the positive. His mom has been telling him how proud she is of him as we are on a second chair sitting and working a second walk shortly. In our world, this is HUGE!! :-)
The good Lord placed a smart, savvy, experienced nurse with him today who knew just how to handle his abstinence. She brought the Cadillac of beds that looks like a stretcher then folds into a chair so that he can be moved whether he likes it or not out of bed and into a chair, you just slide him over. Brilliant. Then, she suggested we put his rolling chair out in the hallway so that if he wants to get back to his bed he has to walk. More brilliance!! And it’s worked like a charm. Thank God!!
These seemingly simple suggestions, which they weren’t, have made a huge difference in this families life!! After many days of high anxiety, these changes have given us hope that we can get thru this. They got a reluctant patient moving that desperately needed it and gave a Mom her breathe back, as she desperately needed it, as she now can make a difference in her child’s recovery. And Dad is much calmer thank you.
These 2 ideas by a great nurse brought a little peace to a family in turmoil frustrated by a very sick child confused about his mission. From my view, this nurse is nothing short of a hero. Sent by God to move us off the rock of frustration back into the river of life! And as always, just in the knick of time. If there is anything I know for sure in this life, it’s to trust in the patience of knowing God will intervene somehow, someway for our good.
Please pray for God to give us the daily strength to continue supporting, loving, and literally lifting Walker up.

Praising God for this and fighting alongside you all in prayer.
After many days of pray - faith - trust - I have seen a miracle - maybe not in Walker - but I have seen a miracle- and I spend my every waking moment in praise and thanksgiving - I know our God sends the person the we need - always - always - my word 24/7 - Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!
Walker, Dave, and Candy... You have ALL been on my mind and heart. Today in church, I thought of Ps. 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength , a very present help in trouble." Jehovah- Rapha means " The Lord that healeth thee".... I am claiming that for each of you ....Mind, Body, and Heart.... Blessings.
All things are in God’s time which never makes any sense but then does make sense. Peace be with you at all times! ❤️
