Day 39, 40, & 41

Wednesday is when they were due for their first major snow storm, but that has not stooped the Miami Valley Hospital staff from taking care of Brenda. SHe had her last major SPA treatment. She did great and rested for the remainder of the day.

Thursday morning the Occupational therapist came in and worked on standing. Brenda was able to stand up for about 15 seconds. They also did work with her arms, legs, and mouth. She rested until the speech therapist came in to work on her swallowing.

Today was the same as yesterday. Occupational therapist came in first thing and Brenda spent time on the tilt table and also did her normal exercises. She went to the SPA for a dressing change. They reported that the wounds are healing nicely. This afternoon the speech therapist came in again to work on swallowing. She is still critical, but she is making progress.
