David and I are OVERJOYED to tell you that this week we accepted a referral for a little girl!

David and I received the wonderful news yesterday that we are approved by both the U.S. government and the Indian government, meaning the next step is to receive a referral (match)![...]
The Mississippi River starts 18 feet wide and only knee deep and ends thousands of miles across the country into the ocean. In April we started sharing our heart to add to our family through adoption plus our fundraising efforts. It was then where the goal of raising money and getting paperwork turned in seemed so far away. It was a humble start but now we are praising God. This morning we are praising God for his provision through dear friends, family and at times strangers. We are 100% raised towards our fundraising goal!

David and I received the final copy of our home study last week! This is huge because the next two chunks of paperwork can’t be submitted without it. At the moment the ball is in our court to compile the home study with the other required documents and submit them to the appropriate places. It’s slow, but it’s progress![...]
I wonder if God gets as excited in adopting us into his family as I am for adopting our child into ours. It can be impossible to comprehend God’s excitements but there is a lot we do know about our adoption. [...]
It’s amazing how much we’ve learned about adoption, and being only part way through the process we know that there is still a lot left for us to learn. Any adoptive person’s process is going to look different based on whether the adoption is domestic infant, foster, or international. Other factors include the agency and the country the child is from. Add to that the fact that laws and requirements change often, and we give you this description of what it is like for us, with our agency, through India, right now.[...]
When we said in our first post that we could only imagine the support and encouragement our friends and family would offer we really meant it, and now we’re seeing it in action! Some of our friends have offered to share their skills and spaces with us and with you to help bring our child home. You can support our adoption by doing or learning something new this summer![...]
